Membership

Membership in the Canadian Music Competition - BC Society is open to residents of the province of British Columbia. Competitors in the Canadian Music Competition who qualify to compete in the BC regional and provincial rounds, and their teachers, are also eligible to be members of CMC BC even if they are not residents of British Columbia. (See CMC National syllabus for full details on where individuals may compete). Please download the Members' Booklet for information on CMC BC membership requirements and responsibilities. This is an annual membership which expires on October 31 of the CMC competition year. (For example, if you register for CMC 2008 in September 2007, your membership will expire on October 31, 2008.).

Benefits of Membership
CMC BC is working with local businesses and arts organizations to provide our members with special benefits. Currently, the VSO is offering CMC BC members group rates on ticket sales, even when the numbers of tickets bought do not qualify as a group. Please check this page regularly to see what other benefits will be offered to CMC BC members.

The membership fees charged are used to fund CMC BC's programme delivery and local operations. These include the regional and provincial rounds of the Canadian Music Competition, our annual Showcase Concerts, and special projects to promote CMC BC's competitors to the general public.

Membership Type
CMC BC has several membership categories. Please read carefully to determine which type of membership best suits your needs and click the link to go to the appropriate registration page. These categories are mutually exclusive: you can be a Competitor Member OR Teacher Member OR General Member.

PLEASE NOTE: TO BE ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE IN THE CMC UNDER THE BRITISH COLUMBIA ROUNDS, THE CANDIDATE MUST BE A MEMBER OF CMC BC.

IN ORDER FOR A COMPETITOR TO REGISTER FOR CMC BC MEMBERSHIP, HIS / HER TEACHER MUST ALREADY HAVE REGISTERED AS A TEACHER MEMBER. IT MAY TAKE UP TO 48 HOURS AFTER THE TEACHER'S REGISTRATION BEFORE HE/SHE APPEARS ON THE TEACHER LIST.
